Butterflies and Field Day

We did my last butterfly unit. Bitter sweet. We made butterflies out of egg cartons and contact paper wings with tissue paper. They turned out super cute. We also watched our caterpillars turn into butterflies.

Cambree had another field day. She is truly a little athlete. She did amazing in each of her heats. She got 1st for the 400 meter in her grade. Everyone was coming up to me after her race, commenting on how good of a runner she is. She paced herself and then pushed hard at the end. Then she did the class relay and got 1st again.

Here with cousin Ava.

We let our butterflies and ladybugs go. Kids are so fascinated by this activity. Love how excited they get over the little bugs. For a long time after, kids will run up to me and tell me 'I saw one of our ladybugs at the park- or I saw our butterfly on a flower today'. Every creature they see, they think was ours. Love it.

We made butterfly wings out of brown sacks. Kids loved pretending to be butterflies.
