Kids

Ridge came in one night at was complaining about a tooth that was loose and bugging him. I asked him if he wanted me to try and pull it. Now in the past, if he agrees, its a big deal. He doesn't let you try too many times. I knew that when he let me, I had to take advantage of the time. It wasn't nearly as loose as I thought it would be. So I really had to pull hard. I was quite surprised about how he handled it. He didn't complain too much. We did get it though!

His note says it all haha.

One of Cambree's achievement day activities was making a FHE lesson. She carried out so well. And the girls LOVED helping her give the lesson.

Ridge has GREY hair!!!

One Sunday Brielle was complaining about her finger. I didn't give it much thought and told he her she was ok. Next day, she couldn't hold a crayon without it hurting. SO I decided to finally give it a closer look. I felt horrible once I realized it was swollen and purple. He WAS really hurt. I proceeded to ask her what happened and she tells me that she fell at Nana's on her finger. My guess is she fell and jammed it. I was concerned it was jammed so much that we would need to get some help putting back in. She wouldn't let anyone touch it.

Well Curtis took advantage a day later, to catch her not paying attention and literally pulled her finger out. It was jammed and he likely fixed it with that pull. It hurt pretty bad, and she wasn't too happy but it fixed it.

So Ridge's teacher asked them to find an animal to learn about that they don't know much on. Ridge was hardcore on it. We had to search high and low for an animal he didn't know. That was no easy feat. We happened upon this and his teacher found it puzzling he would pick such a crazy animal. She told me later she had never had a student quite like Ridge before haha.

Dentist Visit

For the very last time, we had Dr. Bull, come to our class for one final dentist demonstration. He was great as always, and made learning about teeth, super fun.

Cleaning House

I am not a good cook. Not at all. But this was my attempt at getting home cooked meals in the midst of school and chaos :). I did a day of freezer meals. The prep wasn't as bad as I thought and they have been amazing to have.

When I get in the reorganizing mood- every part of my house will be touched haha. This is my side of the closet.
 This is the center part
And that little dresser is our new addition. It was Curtis' grandpa's. Super special to have a piece like that in our home.

My under sinks have driven me crazy. So I found these stacking bins at the dollar tree. They aren't the color I would usually like, but I can't complain for a dollar. This was a great way to get my stuff organized and easy to find.

My coat closet/ craft closet is just a catch all. It always gets quickly cluttered and drives me crazy. So found some more bins and made some labels to make things easier to locate.

That organizer is actually an over the door organizer. I folded it in half and hung it on a hanger. It has been a great space for gloves, scarves, hats etc. All those little things that would usually clutter my floor. I also found these drop down bars for the closets. The high bars made it so the kids couldn't/wouldn't hang their coats because they couldn't reach. These bars made it so they could get their own coats, and also put them aways. Hallelujah!
Under one of my cabinets is another catch all. More for kids papers, and church info. More dollar store bins to the rescue and I have a place for papers to keep and important papers.

My pantry has always been a headache. Kids couldn't help themselves as much as I liked. So we rearranged and move down cereals so they could serve themselves.
These baskets are great for the kids to make their lunches as well as just grabbing quick snacks after school. It also saves me money so I can see what we have and what we're lacking super fast.

Batteries are so hard to keep track of. So I made a small organizer into a battery station. I love how fast it is to find the size I need.

My two helpers with making tons of muffins for the freezer.

New Year

With the start of a new year- there was a lot of new changes. I had hopes of making some improvements to the house to make things easier for our family.

One day I decided to clean out from under our bed. It is quite the task since its a solid wood base. Curtis has horrible allergies so the dust was really bothering him. With such a large undertaking, I decided to take advantage of the time and move around my room. We had never considered moving the bed in front of the windows for fear of it being weird covering our light. However, we have come to love it. We did have a problem with the tv situation. It made it super hard to look at. So Curtis being the amazing handy man that he is, simply decided to move it above our bathroom door. It is amazing. Ridge loved the whole project. Curtis took him up in the attic to move the wires and Ridge thought he was hot stuff. It was fun watching them work on the project together.

Brecklynn started having a very hard year. Her teacher she started the year with, had a baby, and last minute decided to cut out early AND not return. Plus, they couldn't find a replacement. Brecklynn was a wreck over the Christmas break. She was literally pulling her hair out at night due to stress. She had bald spots. Her stomach was hurting constantly. The day before school was starting again, I got the most amazing news that a good friend of mine had taken the position. I can't tell you the relief I got from this. And she was the biggest blessing I could have asked for. She helped teach Brecklynn coping mechanisms for her anxiety. Seriously a huge answer to my prayers.

Cambree went back to school and somehow hurt her tooth on a sucker. Cambree tends to be a little dramatic when it comes to things so I didn't want to believe she was really 'hurting'. That's why it is so nice having a sister who works at a dentist office. She just told me to bring her in. We took an xray and found she had actually split the tooth. Thankfully it was a baby tooth. But we opted to get it taken out because of the exposed nerve. Cambree was hilarious. I truly wish I had video taped her reaction. The dentist was so good, she had no clue it was even out and started freaking out when it was done.

This was the note to the toothfairy.
Brielle decided to make a huge fort on the table downstairs with 'stairs' on the chairs to the 'top floor'. Quite cute and funny.
